In the situation where a Board position is or becomes vacant during a term:
- a candidate may be presented to the Board for their acceptance (as to the candidate’s ability to represent the sector for which they are standing) by a formal vote;
- candidates being considered for a vacant Board position are welcome to observe regular Board discussion prior to the vote on their acceptance and/or their appointment to the Board;
- portions of the Board meeting where appointments to the Board are discussed are closed to all but Board Members and staff; and
- a vacant Board position may be filled by the Board by appointment at any regular Board meeting for the balance of the term of that position.
