Celesa Horvath joined SASCI as an alternate Director in 2004, became a Director representing the environment sector in 2005, and has chaired SASCI’s Board of Directors since 2006.  Ms. Horvath is the owner and principal consultant of Ventus Development Services Inc., and has 20 years of experience in project management and leadership.  She provides strategic consulting services to industry, business, and other stakeholders with respect to Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development issues.  Ms. Horvath also provides clients with strategic advice regarding environmental assessment and regulatory processes.  She has been involved in projects across Canada and internationally, including China and the Middle East, for clients in the energy, mining, infrastructure, transportation, and government sectors, and has also worked with associations and community initiatives.  Ms. Horvath lives in the Town of Pincher Creek.

When Ms. Horvath is unable to attend Board meetings, the Environment seat is filled by Phil Hazelton.  Mr. Hazelton has had a long career as a senior project/program planner and manager with territorial (Yukon & NWT) governments, the federal government (Agriculture Canada & the Canadian International Development Agency), and development civil society organizations (i.e., MEDA), culminating in ten years as project planner and manager within the World Bank in Washington and Brazil.  He has been involved with SASCI for a number of years.
